Project Mission:
Our mission as developers of OpenChess is to someday have a fully working stable version of a high quality computer chess game.  We will start of with a simple working version and build on it from then on.  OpenChess will be an ongoing project as we do not believe that any program is ever perfect, i.e. once we have a good quality stable version we will start adding more features such as multiplayer support.

i am sorry

Well people... it seems that this once glorious project has simply died. Seeing as i am project manager and was left in charge while the founder took some time off i take full responsibility for this sad fact. however, since i myself am now at university (learning how to program like a pro) and my dorm room has no internet access, i am sad to say that it appears unlikely that i will be able to resume managing this project atleast until next year (2003/2004). please forgive me, i never meant for the project to die like this. it really did look promising and i am sad to see it has deteriorated to the state it is in.

That's all for now, and feel free to comment on the site.

hello everybody, as you may know Landon will not be able to be as active towards this project for the next year or so. Since few others showed interest in taking over the project I decided that i would do it. However i will be rather inactive for a month or so until i can familiarize myself with the project and get organized.

Anyone want to take over?
2001-08-01 05:22 - OpenChess
I will be studying abroad in The Netherlands next year and will not have much time or access to my computer. If someone(or more than one) wants to take over this project, that would be great. Email me, I would be more than willing to have multiple people be admins. I just do not want to project to die in my absence.
